Housing Bridge operates on the principle that the strength of a family unit lies in its solid foundation. When that foundation begins to erode or even crumbles, families can find themselves in crisis without a roof over their heads or a concrete plan to recover their sense of stability. As soon as a client is referred by the New York City Departmen... t of Homeless Services to any one of our 16 shelters, our highly-skilled and dedicated staff sets to work to begin the process of returning and reintegrating these families back into the community. We work quickly to accurately assess each family's needs, and identify the underlying causes which contributed to a family's state of homelessness. In conjunction with our clients, Housing Bridge's personnel devise strategies to help these families achieve independence and successfully transition into and remain in permanent housing. Our clients receive supportive services such as case management, employment services, and housing search assistance. Housing Bridge consistently meets and exceeds the housing and employment placement targets set forth by the Department of Homeless Services. Housing Bridge is a recognized 501 (c) (3) organization headquartered in New York City, managing facilities containing a combined total of 573 units of family transitional residences in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.
