It sits within the Polar Technology Management Group alongside SS Tube Technology and Lentus Composites and the majority of its work is in supporting the activities of the group companies. Horizon Engineering specialises in the machining of composite materials, high performanc... e metals and tooling: Tooling: Horizon Engineering manufactures mould tools for the composite industry from a range of materials including tool steel, aluminium and tool block. It manufactures press tools, hydroforming tools and tube bending tools for the metal work and fabrication sectors as well as fixtures, jigs and general tooling. High Performance Metals: Horizon Engineering specialises in the manufacture of complex components from Inconel, Titanium, high strength steels and high performance stainless steels. Horizon Engineering also manufacture parts from more conventional materials such as Aluminium alloys, bronze and more standard steels. These parts can be produced on a range of twin spindle turning centres, 3-axis mills (3 + 1 Axis) and full 5-axis machines. Composite Machining: Horizon Engineering has a special interest in the machining of composite materials. This includes the machining of high speed rotating equipment such as fly wheels or magnet retention components in high speed motors and generators. These are applications where surface finish and quality of finish are extremely important. Horizon Engineering also machines composite products for other sectors, typical parts are motorsport aerodynamic parts and structural components where quality, accuracy and finish are essential.
