About Hope's Door

The mission of Hope's Door is to offer intervention and prevention services to individuals and families affected by intimate partner and family violence and to provide education programs that enhance the community's capacity to respond. Hope's Door opened in 1986 to address a growing need for services for victims of domestic violence in the company's community. It is still today the only organization in Collin County specializing in prevention and intervention services for domestic violence victims, children, and perpetrators. Hope's Door is located in Plano but serves individuals from all over North Texas. Initially, Hope's door provided a 24-hour crisis hotline and emergency housing. Since that time, Hope's Door has increased its services to include individual counseling (for both adults and children), support group therapy, emergency shelter, rapid rehousing (formally transitional housing), legal advocacy, community education, and battering prevention programs. n 1997, Hope's Door opened the Resale Store, a retail store that is open to the public. All proceeds from the sale of the items at the store go directly to support the programs and services offered at Hope's Door. In 2015, Hope's Door helped victims of domestic violence and their children by: Answering 3241 hotline calls. Housing 379 adults and children in the company's emergency shelter. Providing transitional housing to 487 families. Providing individual and group counseling to 726 women and 440 children. Assisting 247 survivors through the legal process.Read More
