HomePlus Care (HPC) was created as a Pennsylvania Non-profit Organization in 2015. As a training and referral site as well as a community-based information center, it provided advice and support for the immigrants of the Greater Philadelphia Area. 2016 continued a test to see if we could turn a small idea into a big vision. I could say with confide... nce that during that time we matured as a healthier organization. One of the year's biggest, and perhaps most telling, business event was our enrollment in the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS). After a long time of preparations, we are Medicaid certified through the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services (DoH & DHS). As a participant of Medicaid HCBS programs, the HPC is now eligible to work with the comprehensive personal care services for the Frail Elderly (HCBS/FE), the Physically Disabled (HCBS-PD), Developmentally Disabled, and the Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver (HCBS-TBI). Our consumers are primarily persons who are at risk of hospitalization or institutionalization, such as the elderly, chronically ill and disabled. Our personal care services include assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, personal hygiene and medication reminders, and other activities of daily living. Our next challenge is to improve our overall financial position by eliminating our debt and adding to our cash reserves. It will be achieved by concentrating our efforts on our home and community business that is growing and profitable. We believe the sale of the Home Health Business substantially positioned us for future growth. This means that It is very important to expand our presence in current markets and facilitate our entry into new markets. Further, we need to keep our agency abreast of changes in the HCBS industry which is moving to Managed Care Organizations(MCOs) in 2018.
