HomeBase Counseling serves to help clarify direction and find success. I'm James Hyman, looking forward to assisting you on that journey. There is courage involved in reaching out for support. I will strive to understand your goals and collaborate with you on steps toward success. While there may be confusion and discomfort in times of struggle, we... will likely highlight your gifts and areas of strength that serve as valuable resources in finding joy and contentment. My style is to embody respect and acceptance in our work together. Clients get to choose which issues are discussed and toward what end. My role is not to offer advice, but to offer feedback, based on what is seen, heard, and inferred through the course of our counseling relationship. I will share observations and reflections, encouraging you to draw your own conclusions. I will not tend to view the struggles we discuss as problems or failures, but as opportunities. In those moments, I may invite you to explore your perceptions about various opportunities for growth, all in favor of clarifying direction, and ultimately, achieving your interests. My greatest hope is that you enjoy peace of mind as a result of our work together. I will make every attempt to gently challenge you, while seeking to make the experience comfortable.
