Home Advertising was founded in 1993 in the Pacific, MO home of Joe and Kristy Stephenson. All it took was the encouragement of Paul Dau, owner of Dau Home Furnishings, when he offered his business to be the company's first client. Joe had extensive knowledge of the radio and television business. He started in the radio business in 1972, first as a... salesman, then as a general sales manager. He also has experience in television syndication sales. Kristy graduated with a degree in advertising with an emphasis in graphic design from Drake University in 1984. She served as Account Executive and then Creative Coordinator and Traffic Manager for two of St. Louis' larger advertising agencies. Joe and Kristy started Home Advertising with a Macintosh Classic computer and a Brother electric typewriter. Hard work, many computer upgrades later and a dedication to client relations earned Home Advertising an impressive list of long-time clients. Now in our 23rd year in business, Dau Home Furnishings still holds the distinction of being Home Advertising's first and oldest client. By 2005, Home Advertising outgrew their name sake, "home office. They got their first real office space at Watson and Lindbergh in Sunset Hills along with the company's first fulltime employee. Two years later, the company designed and later expanded their own office space to house their growing staff at their current location in Kirkwood. Over the years, Home Advertising made a name for itself in the banking industry, creating customized advertising for dozens of community banks in Missouri and Illinois. The agency also created successful campaigns for large, national corporations, like North America's oldest lubrication company to small, family-owned businesses.
