Holmberg Farms, Inc is a family owned and operated wholesale nursery in business for 50 plus years in Hillsborough County Florida. The farm is located in the Tampa Florida area. Douglas Holmberg began his Horticulture career in 1961 as an educator at Horace Mann Middle School. Throughout his 30 years of teaching Agriculture Mr. Holmberg teams' won... awards and received honors for soil judging, parliamentary procedure, and horticulture judging. Holmberg Farms then Hillsborough Wholesale began growing citrus in 1962 in Valrico Florida. Mr. Holmberg began the operation while teaching school. He saw a great need for quality woody ornamentals and tropical plants within the developing landscape installation and retail garden center industries. In 1972 Hillsborough Wholesale began growing woody Ornamentals, at the first farm location in Valrico Florida. Throughout the years of evolution at the farm, the company has specialized in growing annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, and hundreds of varieties of ornamentals, tropicals, roses, and small trees, from liners up to 45 gallon. Holmberg Farms began growing roses back in 2002 specializing in Jackson and Perkins varieties.
