About Hippo Records
Hippo Records | Record Store in Greensboro, NC I grew up in my teens as a record store enthusiast buying whatever albums I could afford, which wasnt much. Soon after graduation I lucked into a job at one of the local spots where I worked for 5 years. I was turned on to a wide variety of music by both customers and coworkers. I struck out on my own as a freelance vinyl dealer for a couple of years testing the waters and my own abilities only to realize I needed a physical location, somewhere to call home. Through some good friends of mine I set up a relation with a local arcade whose business was thriving and would be a perfect spot to sublet a corner. This relation lasted for two years at which time I realized the need for another record shop in town and it just so happened that the space next door was up for lease. It was too good to believe I had just opened a full sized record shop! In September of 2013 Hippo Records officially opened its doors to the public.Explore more
