Hindalco-Almex Aerospace Limited (HAAL) manufactures high-strength aluminium alloys for applications in the aerospace, sporting goods and surface transport industries. This is a first-of-its-kind facility in India, which is exclusively devoted to high- performance aluminium alloys. HAAL is located at Shendra, Aurangabad in western India, around 350... km from Mumbai. A Greenfield facility, which has come up on 20 acres of land, HAAL commissioned its plant in November 2008. Thus far, HAAL has successfully cast billets in various 2xxx, 6xxx a nd 7xxxx series alloys in the entire set of tooling ranges present. All material has passed the required quality parameters for input raw materials in the forging and extrusion process. With state-of-the-art technologies in casting, homogenising, machining and ultrasonic testing, HAAL is a futuristic plant.
