HIMEX CORPORATION was formed in 1990 through a long and well-thought planning of six (6) brilliant minds headed by a Japanese engineering graduate of Wasada University, Mr. Teruhiro Ohno. Raised in a family that runs a medical distribution business in Japan, Mr. Ohno recognized the growing potential of the Philippine market for medical equipment an... d supplies. Founded by his knowledge and experience in the medical field came the birth of Himex Corporation. In the beginning, Himex gained recognition in the medical industry as an importer and distributor of medical supplies. A few months later, the company spread its wings and got involved in engineering services. It was able to secure commissioning contract for major Japan grant-aid (JICA) projects for the Philippines and other countries. Himex's engineering services record includes commissioning for JICA medical projects for the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), Philippine Children's Medical Center (PCMC), Philippine Heart Center (PHC), Benguet General Hospital (BGH) and the Department of Health (DOH). Himex also was the Technical Coordinator for other JICA social projects such as the agricultural training project for ATI in 1993, the "Productivity Skills and Capability Building (PSCB)" projects for DSWD in 1992 (Phase I) and 1997 (Phase II), and the "National Vocational Training & Development Center for Women (NVTDCW)" project for TESDA in 1998 among others.Read More
