At Highpoint our goal in missions is to form strategic partnerships with organizations who reach people we cannot reach without their help and offer them resources to reach people they can't reach without our help. We also know that if our work is to be sustained, it will happen through the viability of the local church. Therefore, we want to partn... er with organizations whose work strengthens a local church or a network of local churches. Globally, Highpoint church has spent time on 5 continents, working in China, Indonesia, India, Germany, Uruguay, Brazil, and Uganda. Most recently, Highpoint sent a team to northern Uganda to help build a home for missionaries living there and minister to local children. Our worship leader, Doug Pierce, also regularly takes a team to Germany to worship with and minister to the men and women who serve our country over there. Our goal in Global missions is to create ongoing relationships where, through leaders in a region, we can have a continuing impact in a community. Locally, we serve as a church at the Memphis Union Mission every other month. We have the opportunity to prepare meals for around 200 men and worship and share the gospel with them 6 times per year. We are also currently gauging interest in serving high school athletic teams with meals and devotions before games through Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As a church, we also want to look within our own body to find out where we can support our people who are already attached to community or global missions organizations.
