Our Independent Living Program (ILP) provides safe housing, supportive case management services, life skills training, educational and employment guidance, counseling and parenting education for homeless young adults. Our goal is to help residents achieve self-sufficiency, financial independence and long-term housing stability. Higher Learning Solu... tions Foundation was founded out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of youth. Having attended many social events the past few years, it was brought to our attention by several local judges and advocates the need for care of youth currently in and aging out of foster care. We listened intently as statistical data was provided comparing the number beds available versus beds needed for foster youth not only in the Columbus area, but also in the state of Georgia. It was heartbreaking to hear many of the youth were living sometimes unsupervised in hotels, homeless, or vulnerable to human trafficking. Considering todays current climate, we decided to not just sit back and talk about societal issues, but to be an integral part of the solution. We have accepted the challenge and are excited about what the future holds, as well as our organizations capability to make a difference in the lives of the demographic of those we will be assisting.
