Herndon Lodge

Freemasonry is the oldest Fraternal organization in existence. Written records about the Order date back to 1390. The Grand Lodge of Virginia was established on October 30, 1778. Masonry is a system of morality veiled in allegory and symbols, assisting good men in becoming better. It gathers under its umbrella men of all faiths, all nations and all... classes without distinction. A fraternity based on integrity, founded on the allegorical application of tools and implements of architecture to the construction of our own beings buildings of living stones, for the service of our creator and mankind. Not a religion, but a fraternity requiring of its members a belief in a Supreme Being and devotion to the religion of their choice. It has preserved through centuries because it teaches toleration of all faiths, acceptance of all men of good character, and the practice of friendship, morality and brotherly love. Our Lodge was initially granted a dispensation to conduct Masonic labors as Freedom Lodge No. 264, but when the Charter was granted on December 9, 1897, the name was changed to Herndon Lodge No. 264 after the namesake of the town, Commander William L. Herndon. Learn more about our history . Our Lodge is located at 820 Elden Street in Herndon, Virginia and we meet at 7:30 p.m. every third Monday of the month.
