About HepBMoms.org

HepBMoms is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of mother-to-child (perinatal) transmission of hepatitis B infection. During the time of birth, newborns can become infected with the hepatitis B virus (if their moms have hepatitis B) and have a high likelihood of developing lifelong (chronic) infection. Chronic infection with the hepatitis B virus causes a serious infection of the liver, which can eventually lead to liver cancer or liver failure. But newborns can be protected for life through a simple measures like vaccination.
