Helio International

HELIO International is a non- profit association, founded in 1997, and based in Paris, France. Its mission is to promote, at an international level, energy systems which support the principles of eco-development. HELIO designs and develops tools and methodologies for political decision-makers and cooperates with national and international NGOs in the area of energy, environment and development. It is the creator of the Sustainable Energy Watch (SEW) that monitors the contribution of energy policies to ecodevelopment. Since 1998, the organisation has focused its efforts on climate issues, particularly on assessing and monitoring the effects of climate change on energy provision. To promote ecodevelopment, HELIO identifies and measures the effectiveness of energy policies within Europe and worldwide to support the creation and implementation of renewable energy solutions. HELIO International develops, coordinates and disseminates studies that are carried out by our experts. HELIO also participates and organises meetings in France and abroad and creates networks to help national and international decision-makers use the findings in HELIO's reports to address the challenges and issues faced nationally. Through its activities, HELIO works on the practical implementation of commitments that stem from international agreements that address energy and environment issues such as the 1992 Rio Earth and 2012 Rio+20 Summits.
