A key part of our person-centred care is Non Abusive Physical and Psychological Interventions (NAPPI) - a highly effective approach to managing challenging behaviour with an emphasis on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). NAPPI is accredited with the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) under the Physical Intervention Accreditation Scheme (PIAS). We are able to quickly identify the root cause of behaviours, enabling the service user to progress to more independent living. Our support staff are trained in a therapeutic and holistic behaviour management programme with a focus on NAPPI. Heathcotes is a NAPPI Centre of Excellence, a status granted to organisations that demonstrate a high standard of NAPPI training beyond the rigorous requirements of the BILD Code. It highlights our commitment to person centred-care and demonstrates that the principles of positive behaviour support have been embedded within our organisational culture. With a care support model designed in line with the Transforming Care Agenda, our services enable individuals to step down from hospital settings or more secure environments.
