And for its patients, the home health and therapy office in downtown Anderson offers a focus on continued care from nurses and aides whom clients know and trust which owner Tim Paul says has a proven track record o... f success. One of the biggest issues Paul sees facing the home health industry is turnover, meaning clients are being cared for by a constantly revolving cadre of nurses and aides. But at Healing Hands, Paul said he will fight to attract and keep good employees by offering higher-than-market wages as well as full benefits to all his employees, not just those working in the office. Continuity of care and having retention of employees is number one, Paul said at an open house Wednesday. Its a strategy thats served him well at Comfort Keepers Indianapolis, which has seen expansive growth from seven employees in 2012 to more than 460 in six years. And retention, which he says is usually around 20 percent at most home-health facilities, has hovered between 71 and 81 percent. Once again, we will sacrifice profitability to make sure we are keeping the best and doing the best, Paul said. Anderson City Councilman Joe Newman said Healing Hands promise of a median pay of $23 per hour for its employees is a boon for the city. Employment, he said simply about what the company can offer. And it adds attraction to development of downtown. BOCA Holdings, doing business as Healing Hands, purchased the former Social Security Administration office at 216 E. Ninth St., which has an assessed value of $92,400. In April it was awarded a three-year tax abatement saving the company around $5,500. Healing Hands offers three types of care, helping elderly and patients with disabilities throughout their life, as well as treatments focused on clients with temporary disabilities like injuries or post-surgery care.
