Headway Derby is an award winning registered charity (number 1107803) and company limited by guarantee (number 04658919) established by a group of volunteers in 1994, in response to the need to provide support for loved ones of people whod survived a brain injury. 26 years on, own mission remains the same, to IMPROVE LIFE AFTER BRAIN INJURY! The ch... arity receives no statutory funding and is delighted by the support it gets from companies, donors, collection boxes and fundraising events. Combined with income from Member Days and grants from charitable trusts like Awards for All, Foundation Derbyshire and Henry Smith we were able to increase our service delivery by 60% in the last year whilst reducing our overheads by 14%. If youd like to make a donation we have a virgin giving page: In July well be launching a new education project called Bitesize by Headway Derby which will draw down on specific topics that will help improve life after brain injury. The first short course starts on 6th July with the theme of RESILIENCE! Emma will take new learners on an 8 week journey of discovery through emotional, physical, mental and social resilience. The course will be delivered online and will include community activities for each learner to undertake during the week, to build on the learning experience and create stronger connections with family, neighbours and the local community.
