Headway ADP

Headway ADP was established in 1983 and has been providing specialist support services to people with an acquired brain injury for over 30 years. We provide individually tailored programs and group activities to support people with an acquired brain injury to live as independently as possible. The program originally developed out of Lidcombe Head I... njury Unit in response to the lack of services available for both the person with acquired brain injury and their families upon returning into the community. Successful transition into the community followed within a few years and in 1989 the purpose built Headway House was opened in Bankstown. In 1992 Headway ADP became an incorporated association. The program structure has changed over the years from a respite based model to independent living training and then in 1998 to the community access model that we operate under today. Funding is received from ADHC (Ageing, Disability & Home Care) and SWSLHD (South West Sydney Local Health District). Headway ADP is a not-for-profit organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act. Headway ADP also has Deductible Gift Recipient status and is a Public Benevolent Institution.
