Hat Box Foundation

Hat Box Foundation is a family-run, non-profit foundation. The idea for hat Box came about in the fall of 2007, when we started knitting hats for family friend undergoing treatment for childhood bone cancer. During a plane ride out to the east coast, the talks began about how we could possibily spread warmth to others in need. The idea of sharing a... hand-made hat would certainly warm the heads and heart of patients across the country. Soon thereafter, Hat Box Foundation was in the works. From the inception of the foundation, we adopted the motto "something made from the heart can help heal the human spirit". From hand-knit hats to hand-written notes, everything distributed through Hat Box Foundation emanates a personal touch. Each hat is individually wrapped and packaged in a small boutique-style box with a bow. Not only does this protect hats from dust and germs but it emphasizes each hat as a hand-made gift. In 2008, Hat Box Foundation was approved as 501 (c)(3) non-profit charity, enabling us to expand our efforts. Since its creation, we continue to volunteer our time to run the foundation.
