Hagerman RacEngineering, Incorporated is located in a semi-rural area 45 minutes north of Baltimore, Maryland. Our shop is located at 1605 Dooley Road, in the town of Whiteford, Maryland, near the intersection of Route 165 and Route 136. John Hagerman, owner of Hagerman RacEngineering, has been an SCCA member for 35 years. Since earning his Club Ra... cing License in 1975, he has competed in F Production Spitfires, a G Production Datsun, Lola and Tiga Sports 2000s, Formula Enterprises (FE), and of course Spec Racer Fords. John received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Virginia Tech in 1982. He served as a civilian vehicle test engineer for the U.S. Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, specializing in Vehicle Dynamics. Acting as the sole U.S. Military Technical Representative, he provided input to over 67 NATO International Vehicle Test Standard Procedures. He served on two Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) vehicle dynamics committees, where he authored an SAE Standard Test Procedure. In 1997 John decided to leave Government Service and to combine his engineering career with his racing experience, creating Hagerman RacEngineering. Working as an independent contractor, he performed data acquisition and analysis services for the Brett Bodine, Larry Hedrick, Cale Yarborough, and Bud Moore Winston Cup teams. Simultaneously, he assembled a fleet of rental Spec Racer Fords, and in the year 2000 became the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic SCCA Customer Service Representative. Without Ken Hagerman, HRacE would not exist. In addition to fathering John (which was a key factor), Ken provided John with the love for things mechanical. A mechanical engineer himself, Ken made the crucial mistake of humoring John's passion for race cars, helping build his first FP Spitfire, along with the trailer, tools, and even a garage for its construction.
