Gurdip Mahal

Gurdip Mahal is one of the worlds leading talents in lighting design. The first person ever to graduate from Southampton University with a first class honours degree in photography, his work continues to gain recognition winning both Royal Television Society award for multi camera lighting and Knights of Illumination industry awards in recent years... . Gurdip has been a lighting designer for various large scale events including the MTV Awards in 3 continents, and the Laureus World Sport Awards in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and South America. Closer to home his work includes lighting some of the most prestigious events for the BBC, including Sports Personality of the Year, Sport Relief and Children in Need. Gurdip created the original designs for numerous ITV and Channel 4 household names, such as the Million Pound Drop now filming in multiple countries around the world. In 2012/13 Gurdip brought series 2 of the Voice UK to life and has collaborated on other projects with some of the greatest names from the world of music including U2, Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Muse and Bon Jovi. Although Gurdip has designed shows for some of the world's biggest artists, venues, and audiences, he is equally happy creating designs for smaller spaces and productions.
