We send a resounding thanks to our generous supporters, old and new, as we continue to fulfill our mission and serve the members of this community, as we have for the last 46 years. I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of GuardiaCare, and am thrilled to be back in Louisville after a 40-year absence. I returned because I am a caregiver fo... r my Mom, so being here at GuardiaCare is even more special for me! I am very excited to have an opportunity to use my professional experience and passion to help guide us into meeting the growing needs for our services - in this decade and into the future. As we baby boomers age and need support for both ourselves and our families, GuardiaCare HAS to be able to fully meet the growing demand for our services. Rosalyn Carter said it best: "There are only four kinds of people in the world - those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who will need caregivers". GuardiaCare has a proven record of offering a wide range of vital services to people on all avenues of the Aging Journey since 1969. The need for our services grows by the day. During FY2012, we implemented a strategic plan to help ensure that we will be successful in 5 key areas: - developing strong community support; - informing the public about the availability of our programs for all who need us; - providing services of outstanding quality to the right people, in the right place, at the right time; - attracting the best board members, staff, and volunteers; and - maintaining appropriate facilities and technology to fully support our mission.
