Grupo VERSA began operations on February 14th 1980, actively dedicating itself to the commercialization of agricultural products in Torreón, Coahuila. In 1984, the company started with its first agrochemical formulation plant in the industrial zone of Torreon. The company were focused on satisfying the growing demand of the company's customers, pri... ncipally cotton growers, and on initiating sales through distributors, producing at that time only liquid and powder insecticides. By 1991, VERSA was growing substantially, so it started the expansion of its liquid insecticides plant, doubling its formulation capacity and adding automated equipment in its packaging line. In 1993, the company constructed a liquid herbicides plant to increase its product line and offer a better service to its clients.The company began to offer toll formulation service and started to sell on other markets through a selected network of distributors. From 1999 to 2002, the installation of its granulated, suspension concentrate and wettable powder plants were completed. This allowed the company to enter into new markets throughout the Mexican Republic. In this decade, the company realized important investments to renew its laboratory equipment as well with the automation of its plants, to assure a complete quality control in all the company's activities. This allowed the company to obtain in 2002, ISO-9001 certification and to start exporting the company's products since 2005. Between 2007-2008 the company invested to grow the company's seed conditioning plant, to make it one of the biggest of its type in Mexico, with the capacity to process alfalfa, corn, wheat, triticale, and sorghum seeds. In 2010, the company built the company's water dispersible granules plant, which produces a new type of formulation, safer for the final user and environment.
