Grupo Florisol

Grupo Florisol is a group of three independently incorporated companies in Ecuador. Its founder and major shareholder is Mr. Ricardo Davalos, a pioneer in producing and exporting flowers. Also, as part of the group, there is an established trading company abroad that buys and sells products from the group as well as all types of flowers from other... farms: Colors in Bloom. The Group currently has 32 hectares of production with 12 different products, such as chrysanthemums, poms, roses, spray roses, calla lilies, and fillers which includes solidago, gypsophilia and hypericum. The Group is one of the most diversified in Ecuador having a unique competitive advantage. The markets are also diversified reducing risks and stabilizing sales. Grupo Florisol sales totaled more than $7 million annual with a tendency of growth. Florisol is one of the largest employers in the industry, totaling over 490 employees of their own, none outsource. The rotation is relatively low compared to the industry and the labor obligations are met in full. Florisol was founded in 1984 with 1.5 hectares of production with pompons and chrysanthemums. Later on, the acres were expanded progressively with new varieties. At the beginning the plants were imported, but in 1997 they began producing plants of their own through a meristematic lab. In the year 2001, although they started cultivating Lilies and spray roses, these were pulled out to be planted in Jardines Piaveri. In 2002, a new property with 22 hectares was bought to immediately expand and grow more chrysanthemums and delphinium. In 2004, they began a production of limonium safora and a year later the area usable to plant pompons and chrysanthemums was also expanded. The Limoniun safora and delphinium were erradicated in 2010 to be able to grow one more hectare for chrysanthemums.
