Covey Ben had been employed by one of the major communications companies for eighteen years prior, and was caught up in the break - up of "Maw-Bell". When his position was eliminated, Covey Ben was 40 years ol... d and had two small children, Autumn Sundowne and Covey II. Covey Ben and Gigi decided to start Griffin Communications & Security Systems. Covey Ben had been interested in security alarm systems for quite some time and had decided to include that with his interest in the communications field.
