Greenwood Press was originally formed in 1993 by Bob Woodroofe, primarily to publish his poetry, the proceeds from which were for nature conservation funding. Born and bred and still living in the Vale of Evesham, Bob is scientifically trained and currently working in the environmental field. Publications were at irregular intervals, always dictate... d by breaks in full time work and availability of sufficient funds. His poems have appeared in many poetry magazines and have been performed at local venues throughout Worcestershire, Gloucestershire & Warwickshire. Bob has self published four volumes of poetry with profits going to local wildlife conservation in which he is actively involved. He has also published a joint collection with his partner, the writer Sue Johnson. Since being joined by Sue in 1998 the duo have gone from strength to strength and have recently published a joint collection of paired poems relating to their family histories, Sue's Creative Writing booklets and Bob's new poetry collection. His work is inspired by the landscape, its ancient mysteries, and the wonders of the natural world. Intrigued by the crossover between art and science, Bob attempts to bring the magic of nature together with its restorative and healing qualities to a wider audience.
