Greenfield Counseling provides medication assisted treatment. Methadone has a success record of more than 45 years in treating opiate addiction. Although methadone is an opiate medication, it acts in a different way from heroin and other opiates. It can be taken once daily, because it stays in the body longer than opiates. Methadone, when taken as... directed, reduces cravings, prevents the onset of withdrawal, is not intoxicating or sedating, and its use does not interfere with normal activities of daily living. Methadone maintenance treatment as a harm reduction model has been proven to lower illicit opiate drug use, reduce crime and enhance social productivity. Mission: Greenfield Counseling exists to provide a safe, caring and confidential environment for opiate dependent individuals. Our focus is to provide comprehensive treatment services where the whole person is treated, not just the addiction. Our goal is to support recovery through a person centered approach.
