GreatLakes Laboratory Network

The GreatLakes Laboratory Network, is an alliance of 39 Michigan and Northern Indiana hospital and community-based laboratories working together to provide high quality, cost effective, patient focused laboratory testing services throughout the state of Michigan and beyond. GLN was formed so that outpatient hospital laboratory testing could be perf... ormed by your local hospital rather than an out-of-state laboratory. We are committed to providing high quality, cost effective laboratory testing. Utilizing our existing hospital resources, we can better control health care costs and ensure continuity of care. Not only do our laboratories serve the needs of patients who can go anywhere they want for services, the GreatLakes Laboratory Network allows participating laboratories to collaborate with other networks within the state to contract with managed care organizations. Through this collaboration, families insured by the majority of the managed care organizations in the state can receive any needed laboratory tests in a facility with roots in the community where they live. Our local community hospital laboratories are proud to collaborate with world-renowned Mayo Medical Laboratories (MML). We selected MML as a partner and referral laboratory because of their commitment to community-based medicine and support of the community-based hospital laboratories.
