Granny's Kitchen

Ray and Teresa Williamson established Granny's Kitchen in 1984 and have been providing quality food with down home-cooking appeal for over 25 years. The restaurant is truly a family affair. Ray and Teresa's sons Jamie and Dwight, daughter Lora, and daughter-in-law Christa all work here. Many of the Granny's crew have been with us for years and are... considered part of our family. Most of the Granny's crew have been with us for many years and are considered family. Ray has been cooking professionally since he was 14 years old. He received his degree in Hotel/Motel Restaurant Management from AB Tech in Asheville, NC, and was employed for 11 years by Holiday Inn of Cherokee where he was named one of the top ten Food and Beverage Directors world-wide. Teresa is a proud member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and began helping in her grandmother's restaurant when she was 11 years old. Teresa attended Southwestern Community College and Western Carolina University. In 2007 she received the Minority Enterprise Development Award in the Restaurant Business category. We are a TERO certified business and our employees have completed the Qualla-T customer service training. In addition to the restaurant, the catering aspect of the business has given the Granny's Kitchen family an opportunity to participate in many cultural events and family gatherings in Cherokee and Western North Carolina. Granny's Kitchen crew has received the Duke Energy Citizenship Award for service to the community. Ray, Teresa, and the whole family invite you to stop in and visit with us.
