About Gpies
The Gemini Planet Imager (GPI) is an advanced adaptive optics instrument designed for the Gemini Telescope, aimed at directly imaging extrasolar planets orbiting nearby stars. Currently undergoing upgrades to GPI 2.0 at the University of Notre Dame, it will enhance the capabilities of the GPI Exoplanet Survey (GPIES) team, which has already characterized numerous exoplanets. Funded by a consortium of U.S. and Canadian institutions, GPI is part of an international partnership involving multiple countries.
