Gods N Gladiators is an artist run brand & studio. Art mediums mainly consists of unique hand screen printed monoprint works that range from hangable art to "One of a kind apparel". All designs are original graphics by the artist Alexandros Hatzigiannidis and are screen printed or painted from start to finish in house. All work is intended to celeb... rate and glorify the mysteries of life! When I first started this business my mission was to create aesthetically pleasing art. People would ask all the time: What are you about? I wasnt about anything but creating! I didnt have a goal other than to make art my living. It took a while before I had a true mission statement but eventually it came naturally. As time went on I realized how much of an impact my work was having on my consumers. The testimonials to this day are unreal. So I started wanting to use this for a greater good that would resonate in people's minds and thoughts. When I started fusing my monoprint architectural designs with the Greco Roman illustrations my art started taking on an abstract look. It even took more of a pop art feel and was received with good feedback. But there was no message involved. Growing up where both Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass lived the majority of their lives and were laid to rest had a great impact on my life. The idea of celebrating the work they have provided to the world was simply the next step for my art. They are the real Gladiators that sacrificed for us, all of us. They are the ones that fought to give us comfort and a better way of life. They were they ones we should be looking to for inspiration. The more I learn about them and the work they have accomplished I have unfortunately learned how modern day slavery has not been eradicated today in 2020. In fact it is growing with the rise of internet and is even worse bc of how many forms it comes in. There as an estimated 40 - 55 million human slaves world wide.
