Gnosis

Gnosis is the name of the business run by Pontypridd based Artist and Tree Surgeon, Dai Edwards. In essence GNOSIS means Knowledge - but not a knowledge that is acquired, something from within. Other definitions include "a deeper understanding especially of a spiritual nature", or "a synergy of art, philosophy and science". The Gnosis, as a belief... system, predates Christianity, as well as having deep connotations in Buddhism. The "Gnostics" was the name of the heretical sects of the early church, who held that they had a special knowledge of spiritual things. It is more holistic in its way. It manifests in my business. Covering all aspects of Tree Surgery and Woodland Management, along with conversion of timber into Sculptures and Furniture as well as planks and beams. I also carry out "Woodland Workshops", working with community and school groups, to improve their local environment, and their understanding/appreciation of it.
