Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Martin Luther King, Jr. Amid all the pain and suffering going on in our world right now, our thoughts and prayers are with the families of our black and brown brothers and sisters who were unjustly slain at the hands of the police. Enough is enough. We are tired. We are tired of being tired. And... we have held our breaths collectively long enough. Being black should not be a death sentence, and yet it is. The callous and inhumane murdering of our brother George Floyd has once again brought to light the ugly and vile disease that is racism. And with it coupled with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, pre-existing inequities in our system have been brought to the surface for all to witness. Unfortunately, the ones who bear the brunt of it and are disproportionately affected are minorities and people of color who were already at a disadvantage. That is why now more than ever we must stand up and stand firm against racism and the organizations, institutions, and the benefactors who perpetuate and benefit from the system that breeds racism. A system that was built to serve and cater only to the needs of one group of people, and to inhibit progress, opportunity, and equality & equity for another. At Global Perinatal Services, we are working diligently to support families in whatever capacity they are needing. It is in times like these that our work, mission, and objective of ensuring to bridge the gap of inequality is significant and unrelenting. In the coming weeks, we will expand our efforts in reaching out to and partnering with organizations that seek to dismantle and disrupt racist systems and racism in all of its forms. As always, we will fight for you and with you. And we are here to be your voice and to provide you and your family with whatever support you may need.
