When my aunt Teresa Kelly first went to your facility, I was almost petrified. I,... as many other people, have heard horror stories about many facilities. Some of which are correct, some of which are not. When I saw the facility from outside, I thought At least its nice looking facility, but look can be deceiving. There werent! Several months before she was admitted to Glendale Uptown, Teresa said if she went to a nursing facility she wont survive. Shes done much better than that. Teresa has put on weight, something she was always a little obsessed about. She is going for therapy and learning to use a walker. After even a week or two, I felt at least I understood she was safe until I could get a nurse for private care. She wants to come home eventually but as she said your facility is her second home. I wouldnt commend everyone on the third floor but I would particularly like to single out Anna Tsybushkin. She said her job is her passion and I believe it and all the patients on the third floor benefit from it. She was particularly supportive in working with me and SLC in preparing the Power of Attorney but has looked after Teresa in many other ways. Anna also explained a good bit of how PCA functions and I, undoubtedly, will have to rely on her for more information in dealing with them particularly after talking with a young woman there who said PCA doesnt have anything to do with placing a nurse with Teresa (the woman is seriously confusing me). She told me she used to work for PCA. Your facility is much better off with her and PCA is much worse off without her. Until I can bring Teresa back, I appreciate the fine care youve given her.Read More
