The G.J. Gardner story began in 1983 with Greg Gardner starting his building firm based on the principles of uncompromised quality and value. He built homes designed to meet individual customer's needs within a committed time frame and quickly established a great reputation. The formula was such a success that G.J Gardner Homes grew to be Queenslan... d's largest home builder and in 1995 Greg decided to franchise the business with locally owned and operated offices using the same proven formula to build quality homes across Australia. In 1997, enterprising New Zealand builders seized the opportunity to bring the successful formula here, and G.J. Gardner Homes almost immediately was on the path to success. Their vision was to become a team revered for their integrity, commitment, dependability and who delivered great homes and an enjoyable building experience to all customers. Just four years later, in 2001, GJ's had grown to become New Zealand's favourite home builders, building more homes than any other housing business. 2014 was a big year with G.J Gardner Homes celebrating construction of their 10,000th home in New Zealand. A huge milestone which would not have been possible without such a great team following the same great principles of building homes designed to meeting individual customer's needs with uncompromised quality and value. In 2016 GJ's approached Simon Barnett to be their brand ambassador and were thrilled when, after thoroughly researching the business, Simon agreed to become part of the GJ family. Fast forward to 2021 when New Zealand is in level 3 Covid lockdown and the GJ team celebrate the building of their 20,000th home.
