Why some flavor is not available to GIO Club members? While big commercial ice-cream brands have an assortment of long-lasting gelato flavors always available regardless of the season, at GIO Gelati, every single flavor is made fresh every week only from fresh ingredients. The ice-cream you buy at your local supermarket might have been sitting on t... he shelf for a few months. Our authentic Italian gelato is different. We make our gelato exclusively at our artisanal production lab in San Francisco on Union Street. We do not use preservatives, and we pride ourselves in making no compromises on quality by preparing and serving only fresh, just made gelato. For example, if one week we do not find perfectly ripe nectarines, we simply stop making nectarine gelato. We only produce a limited set of flavors every week. We can't make all gelato flavors available all the time. We committed to offering about 15 different flavors available to our members, some are always available, like stracciatella, while others come and go with the season. In our stores, we can afford to be slightly more flexible by adding and removing flavors on a daily base. The planning required by our subscription program doesn't allow the same freedom.
