Through the power of giving, ingenuity and education we are creating sustainability while transforming lives and the environment in which we all live Gino Macchio: Our Inspiration, was called home as a result of a motorcycle accident on May 4, 2018. On that day a bright light was extinguished and the world lost an inspiration. The Gino Macchio Foun... dation started with a phone call to Ginos Dad from an old friend. No way could we let the good this young man would have accomplished in the world go unfulfilled. It was decided by his family and friends that we would try and carry on in his place. I Got You was Ginos reply ANY time ANYONE asked for help for ANY reason. It sums up Gino and we have adopted it as our creed, embedded into our logo and at the core of our code of conduct. Gino was passionate about helping the oyster industry obtain sustainability, committed to cleaning up the Great South Bay. Gino was always the first to help others and his heart desired to help those in all kinds of recovery. He saw an opportunity to do all of the above. He designed a piece of equipment he wanted to build to help the process of Oyster Harvesting become more efficient for the Growers. He sketched some drawings on this equipment he would build. After finding the drawings Ginos father, Steven decided the equipment must be built. And thus the Foundation began its work. Through his fathers dedication and persistence and infinite love of Ginos family, the trailer has come to be. It will serve the industry for years to come. Additional goals include advocating for legislation and increased awareness of the dangers of left turn fatalities and motorcycles. We must find a solution.We are a volunteer based organization and will endeavor to keep any and all expenses to a minimum so that we can deliver on our mission.
