Our mission is to bring cloud where our customers need it. Public cloud is very easy to get going, but you have to sacrifice data control, choice of location and it can become very expensive as well. Traditional private clouds or hypervisor platforms on the other hand often fail or go way over budget - and most of the time do not deliver the agilit... y needed for the business. They also had a need for a skilled infrastructure team that needs to solve hardware architecture, software virtualisation, storage and compute virtualisation. Only hiring such a team is already quite a challenge. Combining the ease of use of public cloud with the data control and location aspects that private clouds bring, is what we do. We do this with a very skilled team that has roots in one of the earliest cloud startups (Q-layer, acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2009) mixed with people from one of the biggest telecom technology providers (Alcatel-Lucent, now Nokia). We also believe that anyone should be able to have access to affordable cloud resources. Our technology allows us to bring cloud where public cloud providers cannot afford to go. We have a partnership with Afriqloud to bring public cloud services to Sub Saharan Africa.
