About Gharo Solar

Gharo Solar Limited was incorporated in June 2016 with the objective of establishing a complex consisting of a 50 MWp solar PV power plant near Gharo, District Thatta, Sindh. NEPRA issued a tariff and generation license in January and July 2018 respectively. The company executed an Energy Purchase Agreement with K Electric Limited in September 2018 and achieved financial close in January 2019. The project cost approximately Rs. 6 billion, financed through a debt-to-equity ratio of 75:25, with USD 22.5 million from foreign lenders and Rs. 2,128 million from local lenders. The company successfully commissioned a 50 MWp PV Solar Farm near Deh Ghairabad, Mirpur Sakro, District Thatta, Sindh. All energy is sold to K-Electric Limited. The project is the most advanced solar plant in Pakistan to date, featuring bifacial modules and single-axis trackers. Commercial operations commenced on December 23, 2019.Explore more
