Geomysore Services India Pvt Ltd (GMSI)is a private company formed to explore and develop untapped gold resources of India. Established in 1994, GMSI has large portfolio of gold tenements (applications including those granted and in the process) in southern and central parts of India. These tenement areas cover large tracts of Archaean and Proteroz... oic volcano-sedimentary belts with known gold potential. They include most promising Kolar, Chitradurga, Shimoga, Ramagiri and Jonnagiri greenstone belts in south India and Mahakoshal and Sakoli belts of central India. Engaged in exploration since year 2000, GMSI has explored 18,490 sq.km of highly potential ground spread over the above mentioned belts under 28 Reconnaissance Permits (RP). The exploration has led to the discovery of about 35 potential blocks for gold all of which have been covered by Prospecting License and Mining Lease Applications (PL and ML). The company has applied for 31 PLs covering 952 sq.km and 4 MLs covering 28 sq.km. Among them I ML and 2 PL's have been granted and 4 other PLs are in advanced stages of grant. GMSI has obtained a ML for gold over 5.97 sq.km area on Jonnagiri gold project, which is the flagship project of the company. Currently, feasibility studies are being carried out on this project. Further, GMSI has been granted with few important PLs around main Kolar Gold Field. In gist, GMSI has few advanced gold projects with Inferred and Indicated categories of gold resources along with several Brownfield and Greenfield exploration projects in its portfolio. With its large portfolio, GMSI controls almost all the potential gold bearing Archaean and Proterozoic belts of India. GMSI is also set to become first private gold producer in India.
