About General Textiles
General Textiles has been a leading importer and distributor of fashion and home decoration fabrics for over half a century. Two Hungarian immigrants named Oscar Luger and Bernard Weiss founded General Textiles. They had worked side by side on sewing machines at a Montreal textile factory in the early 1950s. The pair became fast friends and set out to create a company that offered a superior product at a fair price. And so in 1960, General Textiles was born. Their brainchild quickly established a solid reputation for providing unparalleled customer service and customer satisfaction. General Textiles now serves a wide variety of retail and manufacturing customers across North America, offering fine fabrics for everything from tablecloths to school uniforms.
