We do this by funding research into nursing policy and practice. The Trustees are also committed to advancing the education of student nurses and further education of Registered Nurses. We do this by funding research and through travel scholarships offered in partnership with the Florence Nightingale Foundation. The GNCT has funded 3 research grant... s as a result of the 2018 call and details can be found on the Research and Scholarship page of this website. Each year we issue a call for research grant applications with a specified closing date. The focus of the call changes each year. The grant process and call for 2019 is now open with a closing date of the 29th March 2019. The specific focus of the call for 2019 is on "Enhancing the quality of care through patient and /or carer involvement". Applicants are encouraged to identify an appropriate research methodology to address their research question. The GNCT fund a limited number of travel scholarships for Registered Nurses that are offered by Florence Nightingale Foundation. The Foundation issues an annual call for the scholarships.
