About Gem Gallerie
Gem Gallerie Jewelers is a Sherwood Park Jewelery Store founded in 1984 and is the longest standing jewelery store in Sherwood Park. Karen Simmons, a graduate gemologist since 1976 from the Gemological Institute of America based in Carlsbad California obtained the store when she moved from Seattle Washington to Sherwood Park Alberta to marry her husband. Karen Simmons love for jewelery began when she was a little girl. Her mother worked for Pan American Airlines which enabled her and her sister the ability to travel a great deal. Karen starting collecting gems and jewelery while her sister started collecting dolls. After serving a term in the US Air Force she decided to become a gemologist and learn about the fine art of jewelery design and gold-smithing.
