G R Langlois

George Langlois originally established G.R. Langlois Ltd in the early 1960's to undertake general building work for private clients. George Langlois was well known to Islanders for his water divining and more recently his interest in the investigation of possible underground streams originating from France. George was the first to introduce timber... frame construction to the Island in 1963 and was agent for Guildway Timber Frame Homes. Over the years George supplied or built many hundreds of homes in the Channel Islands. George retired due to illness in 1991 and sold the business to the present proprietors of the company - his nephew Mark Le Boutillier and John Bouteloup. Sadly George died in early 2015. G.R. Langlois (1991) Ltd was formed under the Directorship of Mark Le Boutillier and John Bouteloup. The new company has enjoyed steady growth over the last 24 years and has in recent years put effort into developing housing for first time buyers. In the recent past the company has been successful in obtaining several first time buyers sites for development including the St Brelade Affordable Homes Scheme at Le Champ Prés De L'Eglise. The company has also enjoyed great success in building many family homes privately and also small developments throughout the Island over the years. One of the more prominent and much talked about is La Hurette, Route Orange opposite La Moye School. The company undertook this work as design and build project for C Le Masurier Ltd in the millennium year of 2000.
