In the Beginning there was Funk George Clinton. Music has been our companion, our friend, our teacher, our guide, our inspiration and our source from which we draw strength and unity. Funkdafied is an Event Promotions Company based in Sydney Australia, promoting regular quality events encompassing many music genres including Soul, Jazz, Funk, Afrobeat, Latin, Disco, Reggae and Hip Hop. Created in 2006 by DJ and radio presenter John Cawley, Funkdafied was established to help develop the expanding Funk and Soul scene in Sydney and the rest of Australia. Funkdafied have toured and organised events with several major international artists including George Clinton & Parlament Funkadelic, Norman Jay, Roy Ayers, Robert Glasper Experiment, Kashmere Stage Band and many more. Funkdafied have also worked with several major venues in Sydney on regular promoted events and also warehouse parties, boat parties and various special outdoor events. As well as this Funkdafied have worked interstate and also works with major Festivals including Sydney Festival, Vivid and Soulfest. The current regular event that Funkdafied run is the 45 Sessions where both local and internationals DJs play 7" records crossing many genres where you can hear some very rare gems or modern re-edits and remixes.
