About Full Gospel Assembly

The Full Gospel Assembly was founded by two school teachers, Carro and Susie Davis, from Macon, Georgia. They arrived in Saint John in 1925 and began to preach the Gospel. They held services at various sites throughout the city and finally settled at 131 Charlotte Street. The building was filled with people every night, and many gathered outside to hear them sing the old hymns of the church and the Gospel songs of revival. As the revival spread many of the young men who heard the good news of the Full Gospel became pastors and established thriving assemblies throughout the Maritimes. The Congregation in Saint John grew so much that alternate premises; "The Capitol Theater" (Originally the Imperial Theater) on King's Square was purchased in 1958 and served the Full Gospel Assembly members as a place of worship for 26 years. They held services at various sites throughout the city and finally settled at 131 Charlotte Street. The building was filled with people every night, and many gathered outside to... hear them sing the old hymns of the church and the Gospel songs of revival. In 1984 the building on King's Square was sold and we proceeded to purchase land and build our present facility at 34 Mount Pleasant Avenue East. In 1981, Pastor Lindsey Burt and wife Bonnie came to Full Gospel Assembly as the assistant pastor to Pastor; Richard Wright. In 1986, upon Pastor Wright's resignation, Pastor Burt became the Senior Pastor of this wonderful church family. We desire that all people; regardless of age, social class, culture or religious background will have a personal experience with God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. We hope that you are encouraged with the joy of our worship, the sincerity of the message and the friendliness of our people.Read More
