Freshletes

Freshletes was founded upon an idea, hard work and chasing a dream. Rather than following the "traditional" model of starting a business, I just tried to apply common sense and research to figure things out as they came up when I first started. I've found that the best way of learning is by doing and if you have questions, find the answer. So let's... rewind and let me share with you how Freshletes was started. I graduated college with a BFA in Product Design, and quickly landed a corporate design job. Unfortunately, I was laid off within a year due to the recession. Not knowing what to do at that very moment, I decided to pack up and move back to my hometown. To pay the bills, I started utilizing my skill set and started freelance designing. One thing led to another and the next thing I knew, I was purchasing equipment from a former co-workers family member, so that I could make custom shirts. What started as an outlet for my passion to design and the desire to control my own future, quickly grew into much more than just selling a few shirts out of my fathers shop to friends and small businesses. Always a sneaker head and into fashion/sportswear, this was the next step that made sense for me. In the summer of 2010, Freshletes was born. I started handing out free shirts to friends and family members. People started asking where they could get their hands on some Freshletes apparel. It was a no-brainer that I needed to turn this into a legit clothing company. Freshletes fully launched online sales April 1st of 2011. In the fall of 2013, I relocated to Saint Louis, MO where I hope to continue to expand and grow Freshletes. Saint Louis made perfect sense, being that I'm from the Midwest and having a lot of established support in that area.
