Freight Solutions

The business was expanded and another division called Logistics Supply Incorporated (LSI) was opened. Marco Johnston and Philip Darné have been the owners of the business since March 2003, renting the vehicles for the first year. Freight Solutions was essentially a specialised side lifting operation, started because of the need for this service at... certain companies who did not have loading ramps and / or had space constraints. It entails placing a container on the ground for packing or unpacking and returning at a later stage to collect the full or empty container to be delivered to the harbour or container depot. This means that the vehicles have to visit the site on multiple occasions. Our six meter side lifter can access virtually any site and can lift up to 22 tons, making it quite a sought after vehicle. As the shipping lines became aware of this service, they started marketing and it soon became a convenient way to pack or unpack containers. We have also branched out into the conventional deliveries and long hauls. Our yard space is used to store customer's containers at an additional charge. At present we have a wide range of vehicles and are constantly expanding, all our truck tractors are fitted with live tracking from BAYTRAC and our operations controller is in constant contact with our vehicles, as well as being able to track the exact location of every vehicle at any time. We maintain our own fleet and for this purpose we employ full-time artisans. Our drivers are committed to the task and all belong to the National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight Industry. Our staff play a major role in our business and are provided with company uniforms, as well as the standard safety equipment. They are our first contact with our customers, and we always aim to make a good impression. We want our customers and staff to be proud to be associated with Freight Solutions.
