Foxtail Farms

For us, Foxtail Farms is a dream come true. We have our own farm, complete with an indoor ring! For two horse-crazy sisters (seriously, we've never grown out of it), we think it's a slice of heaven. As horse-crazy people, all our efforts and work go into this place, the horses and their care. No, we are not super fancy, but we're real, and our hors... es are really happy here. It's the first thing you'll notice; all are laid back, comfortable, happy to be approached and petted (and search you for treats). It's a great place to be, to learn and to help maintain the health of the horse through the integrity of the rider. Come visit us to find out what we mean. Nancy has been involved with horses since the 80's. She is a jack of all trades, depending on the day; hay maker, horse hauler, caretaker, groom, jump maker, etc., whatever the farm needs, Nancy does. After coming off the road (driving trucks) in 1995, Nancy and MaryAnne rented a barn in NJ. In 1998 the barn was closed down, so they decided to look for a place of their own. They found Foxtail Farms, where foxes were in abundance when they moved in. During the past 27 years in horses, Nancy has studied and attended clinics with some of the the best horseman around: Joe Walter, Buck Brannaman, Greg Eliel and Martin Black. She has also ridden with the Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Andreas Hausberger, whose clinics have greatly influenced her riding and training. MaryAnne began riding at the same time as her twin, though she opted to train as a farrier in addition to riding and learning natural horsemanship skills. She is the farm's farrier, specializing in barefoot trimming and general hoof care.
